This Christmas, we are Shining a Light on Youth Homelessness. We believe that every youth in our community deserves a safe place to call home. We hope to spread awareness of what we do to support at-risk and vulnerable youth in our community, and raise funds to support our program through our Christmas campaign.
How can you help? We have partnered with Silk Road Tea to create a ’12 Days’ of tea gift box that you can gift to a loved one this holiday season! The tea boxes are available to purchase for $20.00 by visiting our office at 1524 Fort Street, emailing us at assist@thresholdhousing.ca, or calling us at 250-383-8830. These make the perfect gift during the holiday season and all proceeds come to Threshold Housing!
Throughout the Month of November 2018 you can go to Garrick’s Head and treat yourself to a Stanley Park Brewing Beer and proceeds come to THS. (Must be 19+)

“Nearly half of respondents (48.3%) had their first experience of homelessness under the age of 24 – 41.0% were 18 and under.” We want to thank the volunteers and Community Social Planning Council of Greater Victoria for putting together this data. This information is so important because it allows us to spread awareness of the who, the why, and what it will take to #EndYouthHomelessness. For instance, in the 2018 Point in Time Count “youth identified conflict with a parent or guardian as the top reason for housing loss.” Which is why safe and stable housing for youth is vital.
The Home Depot Canada Foundation is committed to ending youth
homelessness, pledging to invest $20 million over five years through The
Orange Door Project. This initiative will give homeless youth the housing,
support and hope they need to live safe, healthy and productive lives.
One component of The Orange Door Project is The Home Depot’s national
fundraising campaign. From now until June 24, The Home Depot customers
can buy a $2 paper door in support of a local youth-focused housing charity.
All funds raised at the Langford & Saanich Home Depot store
during the campaign will support Threshold Housing.
Wow! We want to give a massive thank you to the wonderful people from the Oak Bay United Church‘s Thrift Shop who held the silent auction for an educational bursary fund for the youth at Threshold Housing. We were presented a cheque for $6000 today and we could not be more thankful for all the effort that was put into this event and the wonderful friendship we created meanwhile. Thank you so much!! #WeLoveOurCommunity
