Threshold’s congregate supportive homes provide high-ratio, 24/7 staff support in a welcoming home environment. Youth have their own spacious bedrooms and share common spaces such as bathrooms, living room, and kitchen. All of our shared homes also have outdoor space with gardens, grass, and places to relax.
Wrap-around support programs are offered both within these home, in other Threshold homes, and in the community, ensuring that youth have a broad connection to community resources
Threshold House is both our flagship home and the heart of our wrap-around Foundations Program.
Purpose built for semi-independent living, Threshold House offers youth their own studio suites – with a large bedroom, kitchenette, and full bathroom – connected to generous shared living room, kitchen and dining room.
Many wrap-around support programs, for example bi-weekly cooking groups take place at Threshold House, while others ensure youth build strong connections in community.
Scattered throughout Greater Victoria, SHY apartments offer supported independence for youth who are ready to live on their own. Threshold works with numerous housing providers and landlords in the region to secure safe, secure, appropriate homes.
With SHY apartments, support services come to the youth as needed, rather than being attached to the housing. Youth in SHY apartments have a dedicated Youth Caseworker and full access to Threshold’s many wrap-around supports.
