How The Home Depot Canada Foundation is helping put an end to youth homelessness with “Paper Doors”

The Home Depot Canada Foundation is committed to ending youth
homelessness, pledging to invest $20 million over five years through The
Orange Door Project. This initiative will give homeless youth the housing,
support and hope they need to live safe, healthy and productive lives.

One component of The Orange Door Project is The Home Depot’s national
fundraising campaign. From now until June 24, The Home Depot customers
can buy a $2 paper door in support of a local youth-focused housing charity.

All funds raised at the Langford & Saanich Home Depot store
during the campaign will support Threshold Housing.

THANK YOU OAK BAY UNITED CHURCH!

Wow! We want to give a massive thank you to the wonderful people from the Oak Bay United Church‘s Thrift Shop who held the silent auction for an educational bursary fund for the youth at Threshold Housing. We were presented a cheque for $6000 today and we could not be more thankful for all the effort that was put into this event and the wonderful friendship we created meanwhile. Thank you so much!! #WeLoveOurCommunity

VICTORIA DAY PARADE!

On Monday May 21st our team walked in the Victoria Day parade! The theme for this parade put on by the Greater Victoria Festival Society was a ‘blast from the past’ and we chose the 70’s for our look.

#MENTALHEALTHWEEK2018

This week is Mental Health week and we have asked our staff members to demonstrate how they ‘practice what they preach’ when it comes to prioritizing their mental health! It is important that we treat our mental health as well as we do our physical health. Which means taking time every day or as often as we can to do something that makes our mental health feel even stronger. Whether it means we take naps, get our hair done, spend time with our family, go on barefoot adventures, or start our day with a fresh cup of coffee! #GetLoud with us and show us how you take care of your mental health! #MentalHealthWeek

“I love starting my day with a fresh cup of coffee!”
