Forrest House is Blessed & Thank you VICR!

Anglican Bishop Logan McMenamie giving blessing, accompanied by Cowichan Elder Bob Nye.

Forrest House is indeed full of blessings. On Saturday, December 6th, 2014, Bishop Logan McMenamie of the Anglican Diocese of BC gave a blessing for Forrest House, accompanied by Cowichan Elder Bob Nye who also gave his words of wisdom & blessing.

Friends & staff of Threshold Housing Society participated in the blessing, singing out loud in response after Bishop Logan spoke words of peace, warmth and strength filled with positive energy. The small crowd followed the Bishop, circling the house, visiting each room, spreading peace & joy.

Blessings came in another form to Forrest House on the same day, when Vancouver Island Charity Riders (VICR) arriving bearing gifts for the youth — boxes full of homemade touques & gift bags.  The staff were overjoyed with the gifts, as they were worried about not being able to provide stocking stuffers for the youth this Christmas, and now the wonderful souls at VICR answered their prayers. The gifts were also such a pleasant surprise, as VICR already donated funds for the youth recently.  The homemade touque were especially a warming touch for the winter — thank you, Marlene for making all the touques!

The gifts were so numerous, so staff of Threshold decided to spread the joy. They delivered these gifts also to Kiwanis Youth Shelter, Pandora Youth Apartments, Victoria Youth Empowerment Society & Out of the Rain Youth Shelter. Thank you, VICR, for bring warmth & holiday cheers to all of us.
