As you’re likely aware, there are significant concerns over the spread of Coronavirus. After careful consideration, and by the recommendation of local public health officials, we have decided to postpone our 30th Anniversary Gala. This decision is being made with the best interests in mind of our guests, staff, and the youth we serve. As an organization caring for a vulnerable population, we see it as our responsibility to make a prudent decision that will help protect the health of others who may be vulnerable. This is an important milestone in Threshold’s history, and we’re happy to confirm that our 30th Anniversary will be held at a yet to be determined date in the future. Thank you so much for all your support and we’re looking forward to continuing to highlight this milestone over our socials.

#MEETTHETEAMMONDAY
Happy Monday! We want you to get to know our team. For #MeetTheTeamMonday we asked our Executive Director Colin some questions to get to know him.
⭐️Do you lean more towards being an introvert or an extrovert?
My Myers-Briggs tells me I’m an extrovert but it’s marginal. I tend to be in the middle of this spectrum and while I very much enjoy relationships, community, and being engaged with people, I also need to time to myself to recharge, reflect and refocus.
⭐️If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
I would be a hybrid of black and gold. Those are the colours of my favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
THANK YOU PENINSULA CO-OP
Thank you so much to Peninsula Co-op for being the Gold Sponsors of our upcoming 30th Anniversary Gala! We are grateful that Peninsula Co-op shares our vision, that all youth should have the opportunity to thrive.

Do you lean more towards being an introvert or an extrovert? I am very much a social introvert. I love being around people and I spend lots of time being social but I do find it draining and if I don’t give myself some solid solo time I LOSE MY MIND!!
⭐️
If you were a crayon, what colour would you be? Metallic Gold- obvi!
⭐️
What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee? Meghan Markle
⭐️
Where do you feel the most grounded, near the ocean or in the mountains? That is a hard one—- I think I love the ocean more but the mountains make me feel more grounded. The ocean makes me feel wild and free which I love, but it can be intense and not so grounding sometimes!! Lakes on the other hand are my happy place where I am most grounded for sure.

If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be? This is so hard! I am going to go with lion because they are very community oriented, they like to spend most of their time hanging out, spending quality time, lazing around, but when they need to be they are so strong, have great endurance and are fierce. lol

What 3 words describe you best? Chill, open, curious
⭐️
Do you prefer coffee or tea? Coffee, coffee, coffee

Shine a Light on Youth Homelessness

Happy November! Starting today until December 31st, Threshold Housing Society is Shining a Light on Youth Homelessness.
In our region, there are more than 150 youth experiencing homelessness, with countless more couch surfing or living in unsafe housing situations. We believe that every youth deserves a safe home. We hope to spread awareness of the youth homelessness crisis occurring in our community and to raise funds so that we can continue to provide safe housing, support services, and community to at-risk youth.
