A Safe Place Changed Everything for Noah

When life feels like it’s falling apart, a safe place can make all the difference. That’s exactly what happened for Noah.

When Noah first came to Threshold as a teenager, he had been through a lot. Kicked out of his family home and caught in the grip of addiction, he found himself on a path marked by isolation and instability. He was spiraling into someone he no longer recognized, and it became clear: something had to change.

That’s where Threshold Housing Society came in – not with a fairytale fix, but with something more powerful: unconditional support.

When Noah arrived at our Supportive Recovery Program, he was met with empathy and harm reduction tools. He began to heal, develop life skills, and reconnect with community. Known for his humour and big heart, Noah embraced the journey fully. He graduated from the program and transitioned into our semi-independent housing, ensuring he had a safe space to land and continue recovering.

Now with his own bedroom, kitchenette, and bathroom along with 24/7 onsite support and shared spaces for meals & movies, Noah has the space to focus on his goals and figure out what comes next. Because of Threshold’s housing, he has the opportunity to expand his independence, return to school, and build a future he’s excited about.

Noah’s milestones go beyond recovery and shelter. At Threshold, he found something he hadn’t felt in a long time: connection. One of his biggest milestones was celebrating his birthday surrounded by people who love him. It was a moment of joy, reflection, and proof that he’s no longer alone.

Today, Noah is hard at work building his future, returning to school, and rediscovering joy. With your help, we can provide more young people like Noah with the home, hope, and healing they need to start the next chapter of their lives.
